Welcome to Lomamaja Pekonen in Muonio

We are a small family enterprise in the heart of village Muonio, by the lake Muoniojärvi. We offer accommodation in cosy and clean apartments and cottages.

In summer you can enjoy the beach which is across the road. From there you can easily start your paddling trips or go fishing to river Jeris or Muonio river. In winter the cross-country ski tracks start from our yard. The distances to the closest ski resorts: Olos 6 km, Pallas 30 km, Levi 60 km and Ylläs 60 km.

Welcome to Lomamaja Pekonen to fish, hike, ski, paddle or just to relax and enjoy the peace and nature.

We also rent caravan places, canoes, boats and sell fishing licences to the lakes and rivers near by.

Share your memories

Lomamaja Pekonen turns 50 years in year 2012. Thus we'd like to raise up some memories and we'd also like to hear your memories/story about your trip to Muonio or to Lomamaja Pekonen (former name: Youth hostel Pekonen).

Your story/memory can be a story about the whole trip, or just short note about a memory, happening, feeling etc. It can be even written in poem -form if you like.

One of the stories/memories will be rewarded with a free weekend accommodation in Sauna apartment. The winner will be chosen by the end of August 2012.
